Rajshekhar Nadar
A portfolio for a Mumbai-based filmmaker working across music videos, fashion films, and narrative, built around the work itself, with the personal brand carried in every frame.
Visit live siteRajshekhar is a Mumbai-based filmmaker working across music videos, fashion films, and narrative work. The brief was creative, modern, and minimal, and the timeline was a single day. He didn't want another version of the same template every filmmaker uses: a quiet menu, a vimeo grid, a lot of black space. He wanted a portfolio that read like the films themselves: texture, emotion, and personal brand front and centre. The work had to be the page, not a sub-page.

The category has settled into a template: black backdrop, vimeo grid, minimal nav. Differentiating without abandoning the genre's restraint was the brief inside the brief.

Rajshekhar's personal brand had to carry the site as much as the films themselves. Most filmmaker portfolios feel like a faceless reel; we wanted it personal without becoming a vanity page.

Embedding video work cleanly on Indian mobile bandwidth, without YouTube's framing taking over the experience and without the visuals slowing first paint.

Single-day build. Every decision had to be the right one the first time.
We built it as a reel-first experience rather than a portfolio-first one. The work scrolls past the visitor as the page itself unfolds (title, frame, role, year) instead of sitting waiting in a thumbnail grid. Rajshekhar's personal brand carries the type and rhythm: deliberate font pairing, cinematic restraint, no template flourishes. Hand-built static (no framework bloat), tuned for mobile load on Indian bandwidth, with YouTube embeds handled carefully so they don't dominate the frame. Shipped to Vercel the same day.
Live at rajshekarnadar.com. The site reads as a moving showcase of Rajshekhar's work and his personal brand at the same time; the portfolio is the journey, not a section of it. A single-day build that landed the brief on the first pass, and now the front door for his 2026 booking calendar.
